Brake Shoe & Brake Band Relining Services
Kor-Pak relines brake shoes, brake bands, disc pads, and clutch plates for virtually any industrial application, drawing on a large in-house inventory of friction materials to match the original specification, or improve on it. Relining is performed in-house through hot bonding, riveting, and machining, and every relined shoe or band ships back ready to bolt on. We serve customers across the country: send us your worn shoes, and we’ll return them relined, machined, and inspected.
Crane Brake Relining
Crane brake shoes and bands are our most common reline work. We reline shoe linings for Krupp (Grove), Liebherr, Demag, and Tadano mobile cranes, along with drum and disc brake shoes for overhead cranes, hoists, and port equipment across every major brand. Elevator & Escalator Brake Shoes
We reline elevator brake shoes and escalator brake shoes (including custom and obsolete profiles) restoring original friction performance without the lead time of sourcing new OEM shoes.
Clutch Relining & Clutch Plate Relines
The same friction shop handles clutch relining: clutch plates, discs, and bands for industrial drivelines, winches, draglines, and heavy equipment. We bond or rivet new friction material to your existing plates, machine them to spec, and return them ready for service — a fraction of the cost and lead time of replacement plates, and often the only option for discontinued units.
Industrial Brake Repair & Reconditioning
When a brake needs more than new linings, Kor-Pak’s reconditioning service returns it to “drop-in replacement” condition. With over thirty years of experience, we follow a meticulous, multi-step process: complete disassembly, a diagnostic report detailing the full scope of work before repair begins, all required replacement parts, painting, and mechanical and electrical testing prior to shipment, all at a competitive price and backed by a one-year mechanical warranty.

Every reconditioning includes machining, welding, and reconditioning of cast and fabricated parts; new pins, bushings, and brake shoes/pads with new organic linings; and inspection covering alignment, torque adjustment, cycle testing, and resistance readings to ensure “like new” condition. Machining, Welding & Fabrication for Reline Work
Where a reline calls for more than replacing friction material, Kor-Pak’s custom engineering capabilities take over: horizontal and vertical machining, turning, grinding, laser cutting, and fabricating, plus molded and cast components in aluminum, cast iron, and manganese steel. A badly worn or damaged part can often be rebuilt and relined in one process instead of a separate fabrication job.
